Louis XIV Bust - Stone
Absolute authority: high spirit, proud bust and derogatory attitude, says the Sun King. Immortalized in a 7-metre-high monumental sculpture by François Girardon (1699), Louis XIV on horseback occupied the center of Vendôme Square before the statue was erected in 1792, during the French Revolution. Currently residing at the Louvre Museum, the bust is still standing, reproduced on a smaller scale. Louis XIV, iconic real figure and messenger of the “art à la française”, now contemplates the collection of busts of Trudon.
