Calice Asancheyev-Becker

Calice Asancheyev-Becker is a French master perfumer born in France to Russian parents, raised between her grandparents’ Russian traditions and a thoroughly French environment. Her passion began in childhood, when she asked her mother how flowers could possibly fit inside a clear bottle of orange-blossom cologne.

She entered perfumery in 1985 as a trainee at the Roure Bertrand Dupont school in Grasse, now the Givaudan Perfumery School, and later worked for Roure, Quest and Givaudan. Over the years she has become one of the industry’s most respected creators, equally at ease crafting global bestsellers and sophisticated niche fragrances.

Today she serves as a master perfumer, Vice President Perfumer and director of the Givaudan Perfumery School, and has also been president of the International Society of Perfume Creators. Honoured with The Fragrance Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award, her signature is defined by crystalline structures, radiant florals, refined musks and a discreet touch of the unexpected that gives each perfume its own twist.
