
Carlos Benaïm is a globally esteemed perfumer, widely regarded as one of the greatest living masters in modern perfumery. Born in Tangier, Morocco, he studied chemical engineering before dedicating himself to fragrance creation. Over more than fifty years, he’s worked with major houses and fashion brands, crafting iconic scents such as Eternity by Calvin Klein, White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor, and Polo by Ralph Lauren, among many others. He has also created niche masterpieces like Dawn, Eau de Magnolia, and Music for a While for Frédéric Malle.
Carlos’s style blends technical refinement with poetic vision: he is celebrated for bringing to light invisible connections between notes and pursuing expressive simplicity without sacrificing depth. His creative process merges science and emotion, olfactory memory and artistic imagination. He has been honored with awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Perfumers and the Perfumer of the Year Lifetime Achievement from The Fragrance Foundation.
