Cécile Matton

Cécile Matton is a French perfumer whose story begins in Africa: she was born in Kinshasa (former Zaire) and spent her childhood immersed in heat, light and powerful smells, from lush vegetation to sun-warmed city streets. Those vivid early impressions shaped a strong olfactory memory and a lifelong fascination with fragrance.

Back in Paris she trained as a pharmacist, seeing science as a pathway into perfumery, and later joined the Givaudan Perfumery School, where she apprenticed under master perfumer Jean Guichard. Over the years she worked for major international fragrance companies before becoming a Senior Perfumer at Mane, composing for leading luxury and niche brands around the world.

Often described as a “jeweller of scent”, Matton is known for polished, sensual compositions with a strong sense of texture and a modern, quietly feminine voice. Her work weaves together African childhood memories, scientific training and Parisian elegance, with one clear goal: to create fragrances that feel flattering, emotional and effortlessly wearable.
