Domitille Michalon Bertier

Domitille Michalon Bertier is a distinguished French perfumer and Senior Perfumer at IFF. She trained at ISIPCA before joining IFF as a trainee in 1994, rising to the role of Senior Perfumer in 2007. Over her extensive career, she has developed iconic fragrances for top brands including Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf, Midnight in Paris by Van Cleef & Arpels, Perfect by Marc Jacobs, among others.

Her creative approach is rooted in poetic sensitivity: she draws inspiration from everyday life — cooking, art, travel, reading — and transforms these into expressive olfactory creations. She explores natural ingredients and continually expands her olfactive palette. Known for her intuition, perseverance, and ability to translate words, memories, and ideas into perfume, she relies on a deeply personal “library” of accords. Since 2021 she also plays a leadership role within IFF, contributing to strategic direction in contemporary perfumery.
