Juliette Karagueuzoglou

Juliette Karagueuzoglou is a French perfumer who realised at thirteen that perfumery could be a real profession, when a family member introduced her to the world behind a fragrance bottle. Her earliest scent memories are of her parents’ house, childhood gardens and the smell of asphalt after rain, revealing a finely tuned, everyday sensitivity to smell.

She holds a degree in Chemistry and studied at ISIPCA before joining the IFF Perfumery School in Grasse and New York, where she turned scientific curiosity into a distinctive creative voice. After early experience at Expressions Parfumées, she joined IFF in 2002, became a fine fragrance perfumer in Paris and was awarded the Rising Star Award in 2010.

Now a Vice President Perfumer at IFF, Juliette describes perfumery as an act of generosity and seeks to create “olfactory markers” that hold emotions and memories over time. Her signature lies in the way she weaves raw materials into almost synesthetic harmonies, often inspired by images, photographs and the subtle landscapes of everyday life.
