Nicole Mancini

Nicole Mancini is an American perfumer and Principal Perfumer at dsm-firmenich, based in New York City. Raised by a trailblazing single mother—the first female stockbroker at her firm—and an entrepreneurial father, she grew up with a bold, independent mindset that would later shape her creative voice. She graduated cum laude with a degree in Psychology and a minor in biochemistry, viewing fragrance as a bridge between mind, body and emotion.

Mancini joined Givaudan in 2000, spending three years in applications and quality-control labs before entering the Givaudan Perfumery School in France in 2003. After her training she worked under senior perfumer Jack Agran, first specialising in consumer products—particularly personal care and air care—then moving into the New York fine-fragrance team, creating scents for specialty retail, niche projects and celebrity-driven brands. In 2024 she took on a new chapter as Fine Fragrance Principal Perfumer for North America at dsm-firmenich, building on more than two decades in the industry.

She describes perfumery as a way to design emotional states and contribute to both human wellbeing and planetary care. Deeply inspired by nature—especially mountains and the sea—she often asks how to recreate the scent of redwoods, a walk along the beach or a purely uplifting, happy feeling. Her signature blends scientific precision with emotional storytelling, weaving comforting ingredients and cocooning accords into modern, readable perfumes that feel intimate, optimistic and unmistakably her.
