Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillie

Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillié is a Moroccan-born, France-trained perfumer based in Paris and part of Givaudan’s fine-fragrance team. She grew up in Casablanca wrapped in orange blossom, leather from the medinas and the spices of her mother’s kitchen, in a family where her father and sister would discuss perfumes as if they were textures, flavours and feelings—an atmosphere that taught her early on to translate scent into emotion.

Drawn equally to science and the arts, she studied engineering and chemistry in France, applying for a holiday job at Givaudan that confirmed her desire to become a perfumer. A brief internship at Parfums Christian Dior and a period as an evaluator working on cosmetics deepened her understanding of formulation, before she joined the Givaudan Perfumery School and trained as a perfumer. Today she creates for niche labels and international brands, from European projects to contemporary oriental collections for Middle Eastern houses.

Her signature bridges two olfactory worlds: the warmth of musk, amber and spice rooted in her Moroccan heritage, and the delicacy of flowers and woods shaped by French perfumery. She sees each scent as a captured memory turned into a trail, favouring modern oriental structures where vanilla, luminous florals and soft woods come together in elegant, sensual, emotionally charged compositions that invite the wearer to travel between tradition and modernity
