Pascal Gaurin

Pascal Gaurin is a French perfumer, born around 1970 and trained at ISIPCA, now serving as Vice President Senior Perfumer at IFF. His fascination with craftsmanship began early, inspired by his great-grandfather, a bronze sculptor, and by the conviction that he would one day work with luxury objects. While preparing for business school, a magazine article about the perfume industry redirected his life towards fragrance creation.

His olfactory roots lie in the dark forests of Creuse, in central France, a landscape of damp wood, hay and earth that still informs his work. Gaurin is particularly drawn to dense, powerful essences—resins, deep woods and “frontal materials” that need to be sculpted and tamed—shaping them with a meticulous, almost architectural approach to achieve balance, depth and refinement.

Over the years he has built an international career spanning Hong Kong, New York, Dubai and Paris, composing for niche houses and major luxury brands. His signature is defined by a richly textured sensuality and a love of strong, characterful ingredients, always channelled into fragrances designed to leave a lasting impression on both skin and memory.
