Philippine Courtière

Philippine Courtière is a Parisian perfumer with a lifelong passion for luxury scent. She grew up in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower and at the very heart of haute perfumery: the granddaughter of Jacques Rouët, a key figure in the early days of a legendary couture house, and the daughter of a senior executive in Parisian high fashion. As a child she loved smelling the fragrance samples brought home for evaluation, long before perfumery became her career.

Originally trained in international law and administration, she worked as a lawyer until an internship at a perfume brand revealed her true calling. In 2008 she made a bold 180-degree turn, joining the Firmenich perfumery school and spending more than a decade there before moving, in 2021, to Symrise as a Senior Perfumer, now dividing her time between Dubai and Paris. Along the way she was mentored by leading perfumers such as Francis Kurkdjian, Michel Almairac and Jacques Cavallier.

A true Parisian living abroad, she is a keen sportswoman, avid reader and art collector, with a restless, inquisitive mind. Her olfactory style is intuitive, polished and contrast-driven, weaving together French classical codes with modern, Middle Eastern–inspired nuances to create elegant, highly sensorial fragrances that feel both free-spirited and meticulously composed.
