Pierre Bourdon

Pierre Bourdon, born in Paris in 1946, is a French perfumer whose path combines intellectual training and olfactive sensitivity. He initially studied political science, but in 1971 pivoted to perfumery by joining Roure Bertrand in Grasse, mentored by Edmond Roudnitska. After five years of apprenticeship, he moved to Paris to work in fragrance for toiletries before exploring the U.S. market.

In 1982 he co-founded Takasago Europe as head perfumer, producing groundbreaking and influential scents, and later assumed creative roles at firms like Quest and Fragrance Resources France. His philosophy treats perfume as art, emphasizing authenticity, elegance, and a distinctive olfactive voice. Today, Pierre Bourdon leads his own perfumery line, manifesting his artistic vision unbound by commercial constraints.
