Shyamala Maisondieu

Shyamala Maisondieu is an international perfumer born in Malaysia to a Malay-Indian family, raised among the heady scents of frangipani, jasmine and her mother’s spices. Educated in London, she discovered her passion for fragrance while living in Hong Kong, then trained at the Givaudan Perfumery School in Grasse and Argenteuil.

Today she is a perfumer at Givaudan, creating for both niche houses and major international brands. Her signature is poetic, dramatic and deeply sensorial, blending the comfort of soft, enveloping accords with the exotic sensuality of tropical flowers and spices from her Asian childhood, always aiming for fragrances that feel powerful, balanced and truly universal.
