Sophie Labbé

Sophie Labbé is a French perfumer widely respected in the fragrance world, today serving as Principal Perfumer at DSM-Firmenich. Raised between Paris and the Charente-Maritime countryside, she absorbed the contrasts of city and nature early on. After studying chemistry, she trained at ISIPCA and graduated top of her class in 1987. Her career began at Givaudan before spending nearly 30 years at IFF; in 2019 she joined Firmenich to continue crafting fine fragrances.

Sophie has been part of many notable creations, including Jasmin Noir and Mon Jasmin Noir for Bulgari, Beauty for Calvin Klein, Pure White Linen by Estée Lauder, and the Signorina line for Ferragamo.

Her creative philosophy is closely tied to nature. Sophie often likens perfumery to gardening: you plant ideas, let them develop slowly, and tend each detail with patience. She sees harmony in the maturation of both plants and scents, believing that time and listening are essential for aromas to fully express themselves
