Indigo Smoke is a rich, sophisticated and long-lasting fragrance that reflects the depth and mystery of the ancient art of tea leaf smoking.

Imagine May 1646 in the majestic Wuyi Mountains, Fujian. For centuries, diligent monks have cultivated tea plants on neat terraces, meticulously tending to their crops. In that year, the tranquility of their monastery is disrupted when Qing soldiers from the north attack. On the run, monks turn to an ancient technique to preserve their precious tea leaves: they smoke them over a pinewood fire. This process gives birth to lapsang souchong smoked tea. Blended with fresh mountain air and incense from nearby shrines, indigo smoke captures the essence of the dramatic landscapes of the Wuyi Mountains and their meandering rivers.

Indigo Smoke eau de parfum begins with a vibrant opening of bergamot, mandarin oil and a lapsang souchong accord, accompanied by the depth of vetiver. This initial combination offers a spicy and smoky freshness evoking the richness of smoked tea and mountain air.

At the heart of the fragrance, apricot accord intertwines with cassia oil, carrot seed oil and guaiac wood. These notes bring a fruity and spicy softness, complemented by rich, smoky wood, creating a complexity that enriches the character of the fragrance.

Finally, the base of Indigo Smoke settles on a deep combination of matte absolute, cedar leaf oil, pine tar and incense. These base notes provide a long lasting and warm, mysterious finish, capturing the intoxicating essence of incense and pine smoke.

Developed by perfumer Calice Becker, Indigo Smoke is a celebration of ancient art and natural majesty, offering a unique olfactory experience that resonates with the history and tradition of the Wuyi Mountains.
