Jacques Cavallier Belletrud

Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud is a French master perfumer, born in Grasse in 1962, and heir to a long line of perfumers. Trained from childhood by his father, he developed extraordinary olfactory memory and early exposure to raw materials.

He started his professional path at firms like Charabot and Quest, and in 1990 joined Firmenich, participating in the creation of iconic fragrances such as L’Eau d’Issey and Acqua di Gio. In 2012 he became in-house perfumer for Louis Vuitton, spearheading its fragrance line launched in 2016. His style blends heritage and innovation, emphasizing natural ingredients, emotional resonance, and technical elegance. Cavallier is known for pioneering the use of molecules like Calone to evoke marine accords. He also founded Louis Vuitton’s creative atelier “Les Fontaines Parfumées” in Grasse, where he continues his craft as both art and legacy.
