Jordi Fernández is a senior perfumer at Givaudan, born in Catalonia, Spain. Unlike many perfumers, he took a non-traditional path: self-taught and beginning his career at Eurofragrance in Barcelona, he impressed early with his technical acumen and creative drive. In 2010, he joined Givaudan and has since worked with luxury brands such as Montblanc, Carolina Herrera, Versace, among others.
Fernández is especially renowned for his mastery of oud and his ability to blend tradition and innovation, creating compositions that balance richness and restraint. In emblematic projects such as Montblanc Explorer, he co-developed a well-balanced scent with notes of bergamot, vetiver and patchouli. His style is versatile — able to chart paths between minimalist and opulent fragrances — always maintaining a defined olfactory identity. He also preserves a strong connection to Middle Eastern perfumery traditions, traveling and immersing himself in those scent cultures which inform his creativity.
