Olivier Gillotin

Olivier Gillotin is a French perfumer born in the Brittany region, where the rugged coastline and lush countryside shaped his early sense of smell. His passion for fragrance was sparked by a cousin who worked as a perfumer for a historic French house, leading him to study Biology in Paris and then train at the Givaudan Perfumery School, where he refined his craft under seasoned mentors.

He went on to build a long career at Givaudan, becoming Executive Perfumer and Vice President Fine Fragrances USA in New York and composing for major luxury and niche brands across Europe and North America. In 2022 he received the American Society of Perfumery’s Lifetime Achievement Perfumer Award, honouring his impact on contemporary perfumery. Since 2025 he has served as Master Perfumer at Moellhausen, further cementing his status as a leading creative voice in the industry.

Gillotin’s signature lies in his ability to reinvent classic structures with a modern twist, balancing freshness, depth and sensuality. He treats fragrance as an emotional landscape, drawing inspiration from nature, art and everyday life to create clear, finely balanced compositions that feel effortless on the skin yet instantly recognisable.
