Solis Rex Pillar Candle, the tribute to King Sun

This special edition pays homage to Louis XIV, also known as the "Rey Sol", defender of the arts and letters, and completes the Versailles collection: a golden and blue pillar candle with a handmade mould with a golden cuff of Louis XIV as an ornament. . Each candle is moved, coloured and decorated in our Normandy workshop.

Louis XIV conceived the park of Versailles as a departure from the traditional courteous life, offering an invitation to rest and festivities. The initial celebrations, entitled ""The pleasures of the enchanted island", had an exceptional comedy-ballet of Molière and Lully. Three days of celebration where even the castle, too small for all guests, forced some to sleep on their carriages only to see the king dance and represent a comedy.
